Hikaru Sulu was a male Human who served as a Starfleet officer during the latter half of the 23rd century. Over a period of four decades, Sulu served aboard at least three different Federation starships, including the USS Enterprise, and the USS Enterprise-A, before finally becoming the commanding officer of the USS Excelsior.
